THE XX BRING US INTO THEIR WORLD IN "BRAVE FOR YOU" VIDEO

The famous trio hit the road with a Super8 and each other.

British indie pop trio The xx are known for being quite reclusive, but with the release of their latest album, I See You, Romy Madley-Croft, Oliver Sim, and Jamie xx have opened up to much larger, livelier productions as their shows went from relatively subdued affairs to arena shows filled with light and color. The fast-moving track "Brave For You" is taken to another level as the band produced a stripped-down acoustic version of the song dubbed the "Marfa Demo Version."

The Marfa Demo Version is The xx like we've never heard them before; Madley-Croft and Sim are known for their duets, but their voices bolstered with an acoustic rather than electric guitar adds a warmth to the notoriously cold band. It's only appropriate that the track, a tribute to the friendship that birthed a band and is still going strong, be accompanied by homemade visuals of the trio themselves.

The video opens with Madley-Croft and Sim leaning against a wall, harmonizing to the chorus of the song under a dim streetlight. Shots of grainy, Super8 footage of the trio running around a desert road at sundown, smiling and laughing and dancing are cut together as the song continues.

The xx are set to embark on a European tour that will run through September, as well as several festival slots at Lollapolooza, Fuji Rock Festival, and their very own Night + Day in Skógarfoss, Iceland.
