HAIM KEEP CLOSE TO HOME IN “WANT YOU BACK” VIDEO

The rocking sisters take a dreamy walk down the streets of their home county.

HAIM is unapologetically a California band. Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim hail from the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, and haven't shied away from loving their hometown in their music videos. In the video for "Want You Back," the lead single from forthcoming sophomore album Something to Tell You, the Three Graces of the indie pop world stick to their wistful guns, but don't rely on the help of home videos: instead, they rely on themselves.

The premise is simple, and shot beautifully by Jake Schreier, who's worked with Cashmere Cat, Chance the Rapper, and Francis & The Lights. The clip starts with Danielle Haim staring into the distance as she stands on the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Beverly Glen. She proceeds to walk down the middle of the expansive road, soon flanked by Este on her right and Alana on her left.

The sisters each get their own moment of individual screen time, but the three spend most of the cinematic saunter either dancing or walking in sync as they pass the Banc of California, vintage clothing stores, and palm trees. The sisters seem exactly like the confident rock starts they've become, but the video's simplicity and geography, not ten minutes away from the county where they grew up and recorded most of the new record, shows that they remain as humble and unpretentious as ever. In other words, HAIM is still HAIM, and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Something to Tell You is out on July 7th. Watch the video for "Want You Back" below.
